Mumbai region, being the financial capital of India, plays crucial role in the nation’s economic landscape. It is a matter of pride that in terms of contribution to the direct tax collection of the nation, Mumbai region is the largest out of 18 regions, contributing more than 30% of the all-India collection, whereas only 2.6% PANs of the nation are in Mumbai region. As the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for this vibrant and dynamic region, I am proud to oversee a team of more than 10,397 dedicated officers and officials.
